— Our Story
From a high-school fight song in 1928 to 99 seasons of music.
The Central High School Band of Knoxville, Tennessee, has a long tradition of excellence, marked by a 90+ year record of distinction through local, regional, and national performances. A source of pride for the surrounding Fountain City community, the band is one of the oldest in the area. Following are some highlights of the band’s history, as researched by David Dixon, retired Gresham Middle School/Central High School Assistant Band Director (1982-2007).

One Program.
The Bobcat Band program runs year-round from the first downbeat of summer camp to the final concert in May.

Marching Band

The 75-strong ensemble that plays at every home football game, regional competitions, and community parade across East Tennessee.

Winter and spring concert season — chamber repertoire, ETSBOA festivals, and the annual May concert.
