— Ensemble II · December – May

Concert Band.

When the marching season ends, the music deepens. Six months of concert literature, chamber rehearsals, festival performances, and a finale on one of Knoxville’s most storied stages.

— About the Ensemble

Music in the Concert Hall.

The Concert Band is the winter and spring performing ensemble for all students in the Knoxville Central band program. Beginning in December and running through the end of the school year, the concert season shifts the ensemble from the precision of the marching field to the intimacy and artistry of the stage.

The repertoire is selected to challenge students across all three grade levels — freshmen developing fundamental ensemble skills, sophomores deepening their musicianship, and upperclassmen mastering advanced literature that represents the best of the wind band canon.

The concert season culminates each May with the Annual Spring Concert at the historic Tennessee Theatre — one of the most beautiful performing venues in East Tennessee and a tradition that has anchored the Bobcat Band calendar for decades.
